Beta Testing Complete – Seven Customers in Production
The CME® Market Data Platform (MDP) was implemented in the production environment in late July. Since then, seven MDP users
have migrated to the new platform, with excellent results. The benefits of migrating to the new MDP include:
· Reduced latency
· Improved scalability
· Higher throughput
· Lower bandwidth consumption (TCP/IP versus Multicast)
The CME MDP environment is fully available in the CME certification/testing environment for user connectivity and functionality
testing. For CME MDN customers, this is the first time that a widely available environment is available for development of
CME market data applications.
Migration Deadline Reminder
Time is growing short -- please be reminded that THE DEADLINE FOR MIGRATION TO MDP IS DECEMBER 31, 2005. With the holidays approaching, in the not-to-distant future, it is likely you will encounter production change freezes and
employee vacations that may interfere with the ability to complete the migration in a timely fashion. Please note that no
exceptions can be made and that this date is final for migration.
We strongly encourage you to contact us immediately if you have not yet begun taking steps to move to the MDP.

As a reminder, all of the documents needed to complete the migration to the new MDP have been published and are available
atwww.cme.com/marketdata.
VPN Connectivity for MDP Certification Testing
As a reminder, in order to test the new MDP, it is recommended that all MDDs have a VPN (Virtual Private Network) connection
to CME’s Certification/Testing environment; however, this testing will not be mandatory. Information about the Certification/Testing
environment, VPN hardware requirements and the forms which must be completed for VPN connectivity can be found in the MDP
Certification Environment Connection Guide, available at the web site shown above.
MDDs will be given the opportunity to complete a suite of tests using CME’s AutoCert Tool prior to migrating to the MDP. Copies
of the AutoCert Tool will be made available to Market Data Distributors upon request, as they complete their development efforts.
